Victorian Huts Association forum guidelines
The forum has a general area for public access and a members only area for members to share information with each other and with Huts Maintenance Officers.
The public area provides everyone another way to share information, offer support, or volunteer to help with huts if you are not a member.
For members the forum provides
- Discussion and up-to-date information on the activities underway to maintain and rebuild huts,
- Early notification of upcoming association events
- Discussions on all the huts with huts maintenance officer moderation
- Trip reports
- Any stories and history of individual huts that members want to share
- Huts photos past and present
Anyone can access the forum by registering on the introductory page. If you are not familiar with registering on forums please click on the following for a document that will help you through the process.
Once registered members will be given additional access as soon as memberhsip is verified.
How to register and post messages on the forum
As the forum is for members only the registration process includes a membership validation step. Once you register your membership will be quickly validated to give you access. You can register with any name you like. Our suggestion is first name and first letter of your surname. For example Bill Smith would register as BillS. You can use your whole name, Bill Smith. The choice is yours.
The forum is open to all members and is simple to use. Please jump in and participate. There is nothing you can do to break it.
Because the forum is open to all members we ask that you keep it nice when posting messages. Some basic guidelines are outlined below. Your messages or posts will be lightly moderated or reviewed to check for appropriateness and unacceptable language. Offending posts will be removed.
The moderation panel is the Huts Maintenance Coordinator, the web master, and any nominated huts maintenance officers. This group will determine if posts are inappropriate on behalf of the Association.
Guidelines
- Participate. Add a message. It is your forum
- The forum is for huts so if a side discussion develops please take it off-line as a private message
- Pictures are great and the forum is set up for members to attach photos to messages. Please keep your photos small. You can post photos up to 500k but it looks better in your message if they are around 100k in size
- Put in enough information when you register so others know who you are
- Include your email address when you register so that messages can be sent to you from the forum
- Have an opinion but keep it under control. Do not post offensive messages
